I loved cars long before I could walk. This red 300 SL Gullwing is the exact car I had always parked in front of my toy house when I was four years old. I loved everything about it: The beautiful shape with the long bonnet, the bright red paint and, of course, the gullwing doors.
During my entire life that passion for cars has never stopped. It just evolved a bit. I’ve studied mechanical engineering in Germany and France and graduated with a specialty in vehicle engineering. In 2008 I started as an engineer at Mercedes-Benz, dedicating my whole career to creating fascinating concepts and dream cars. I always had a very special connection to sports cars, ultimately working at Mercedes-AMG designing future vehicle concepts with all kinds of layouts, proportions and powertrains. As from 2016 I was responsible for the overall vehicle design of the AMG "Project One".
This F1 powered hypercar is one of the most exciting and sophisticated sports cars ever built and it represents the pinnacle of a long line of masterpieces from Mercedes in the last 25 years: The incredible homologation special CLK GTR, the exotic SLR, the gullwing reincarnation SLS and the famous line of Black Series models, to name but a few.
